We recently moved into a new build and wanted a total garden makeover. We needed someone who could both help with the design and complete the work. We found Acorn Landscaping from a Google search and decided to commission them to do the work following an initial site visit and quotation, which was broadly comparable to other quotes we had obtained. From start to finish, we have been delighted with the professional and high quality service they have provided. David was extremely helpful and patient with the design service (despite us making multiple changes) and the 3D imagery he provided was great in allowing us to get a feel for what the end product would look like. The work was booked to start in late July and, despite recent poor weather, Ian and his team turned up as planned and got to work straight away. They always rang the doorbell in the morning to let us know they were here and explained what they were doing that day. They were courteous, polite and nothing was ever a problem. The whole build process took just over two weeks to complete, which was slightly quicker than originally anticipated. They did a thorough clean up afterwards and left everything spotless. Overall, we were very impressed with the quality of workmanship and are extremely pleased with the finished product. We would certainly recommend Acorn Landscaping to anyone in the Preston area who is looking for garden design and landscaping services.

We used Acorn for our new patio. David is very responsive by email and quickly gave us a quote and a design after we gave him our ideas. We are very pleased with the work carried out by Terry and the team. Terry kept us informed of developments each day and we felt fully consulted about everything. The job took longer than anticipated due to the amount of soil excavated to enable to patio to be lowered to its original level. There is no single thing that I could fault with Acorn. The designs process was very easy and we were given suggestions as to how we could improve the design while keeping it within our given budget. The team were arranged to come on July 1st, but this was brought forward to June 20th, and equipment was dropped off the previous Friday. Due to some brilliant weather, the initial team (Ian and Chris) managed to get most of the digging done within 2-3 days and started to lay flags almost immediately. Whenever there was a choice to be made, they consulted me whilst I was working from home, as they wanted me to be absolutely certain about what was going in. They did make a small change for me that meant recalculating their work but made it clear that this was fine as they wanted it to work for us. Within 5 days they had done the majority of the work, and, had it not rained, they likely would have completed everything. They came back the following week to finish the pointing and lay some turf where they had dug for the lowered porting of our garden and they grass seeded across the fresh soil. They also mentioned that one of the slabs had a small chip on the surface, that I never would have noticed, and they came back the next day to repair it. This is excellent service and I wouldn't have expected them to even mention it, but they are so honest and thorough. I can't thank the team enough. David, for being so quick in responding to our queries at every stage. Special thanks to Ian & Terry who led their teams really tightly and efficiently, and gave us such valuable advice, and were both so friendly and knowledgeable. After being let down by other landscape companies, we quickly felt at ease with Acorn's approach which was professional, knowledgeable and friendly. We generally knew what we wanted our garden to look like and Acorn brought that to life following their recommendations and suggestions regarding materials, including the use of porcelain tiles. Following the design of our garden, we felt confident going into the actual landscape work and the team did not disappoint. One of the main issues in our garden was drainage, and so far we've already seen a big improvement following the installation of French drains. We have family who used to be in the building trade and they were very impressed with the quality of the work going into the ground work and hardcore base; giving us even more confidence that this garden is going to stay looking great for years to come. Acorn were even able to make some benches from a picture we'd found on the internet. It wasn't something they had done before, but they undertook the research and they came out brilliantly. Our positive impression of the team at Acorn did not change and this continued through to completion of the project and beyond. Communication from both the office staff and all the skilled landscapers who worked on our garden was fantastic; always polite, approachable and well-informed. As with any project there were some minor, unforeseen snags but these were overcome quickly which is the real sign of a reputable and trustworthy company. We would not hesitate to recommend Acorn to anyone who has any garden project, large or small. We wouldn't go elsewhere and we will use Acorn again for any future garden work.
